What are the factors affecting health or fitness?

Introduction

In today’s life everyone want to be looking good and living longer. Generally we know that the key to achieving these ideals is fitness and exercises. It is a type of challenge for us because today physical activity is not a part of our daily lives. Because of this, obesity and over weight, the problem that come with high blood pressure, diabetes, cardiac-arrest, etc. are on the rise. The decision to carry out a physical fitness program cannot be taken lightly. It requires a lot of effort and a commitment to ourselves . We should take exercises in our daily routine life bathing, brushing etc.

1. Regular Exercises

We should perform exercises in a regular routine. If this regularity is broken then it may affect your physical fitness and wellness. We can say that our body is a type of machine which improves and develops with regular physical exercises and affects its efficiency due to less or non-regular physical work. So we should perform physical exercises regularly to improve our physical fitness. One has rightly said :” Physical fitness is one’s richest possession; it cannot be purchased but it has to be earned through daily routine “.

2. Age

Age is the main factor affecting physical fitness. Normally maturity can be defined by skeleton and physiological age. The period of life is generally divided into childhood, adolescence, adulthood and senior. So children and adolescence must not be regarded as miniature versions of adults. They are unique at each stage in their development. As children size increases, their functional capacities along with physical fitness also increases.

Studies have shown that humans tend to decrease their physical activity as they grow older, which affects the physical fitness. When older people participating in training, most of the changes takes place. It is clear that mode and nature of fitness training is an individual matter, which differs from person to person.

3. Environment

Climate, weather, temperature, pollution, natural environment also affects wellness and physical fitness. Clean, safe and hygienical environment helps to gain physical fitness and wellness, whereas dirt, polluted and unhygienic conditions declined physical fitness.

4. Diet

Diet plays an important role in maintaining physical fitness level. The key to weight control is keeping energy intake (food) and energy output (physical exercises) in balance. When we consume only as many calories then our body needs, we will put on more fat. If we expand more energy than we take in we will burn excess fat.

5. Rest and Relaxation

Proper rest and relaxation should be taken after hard work otherwise these will affect physical fitness and wellness. Hard work should be done properly with sufficient recovery from fatigue. It should not be too long.

6. Sex

Prior to adolescence boys and girls do not differ substantially in height, weight, bone width and body composition. But at maturity they differed significantly on various parameters. These physical, physiological differences also affect the physical fitness of Male and Female. Thus the sex differences affect the type of exercise frequency of participation, duration and intensity of the exercise for developing physical fitness.

7. Heredity

The shape, size, structure and height are related to heredity factors, thus it affects physical fitness. Heredity plays an important role in affecting physical fitness and wellness. Endurance, speed strength are dependent upon heredity.

8. Psychological Factors

Psychological factors like anxiety, feedback, emotional stability and motivation play important role in maintaining one’s fitness level.

9. Stress and Tensions

Stress, tensions and worries result in the decline of physical fitness and wellness. We can manage these by yogic techniques or by spiritual guidance to improve fitness and wellness.

10. Intoxicants

Drugs, alcohol, smoking, etc. Reduce the physical fitness and wellness to a great extent. We should never try to these in any form. These can ruin one’s life and his peoples life. These things may be affect imunity system.

11. Health Problems

The physical fitness and wellness are greatly affected by health problems like diseases, injury, etc. We should follow preventive and curative aspects of health education so that physical fitness and wellness should not be affected.

12. Excessive use of Mobiles

In today’s world mobile becomes our need in so many works like talking, entertainment, in our professional life etc. But with this it ruin our fitness also. Use of mobiles cause pain and discomfort associated with a digital screen for more than 2 hrs. Mostly it can cause eye damage ot discomfort.
