Introduction

Yoga has power to makes the organs of the body active in their functioning and has good effects on internal functioning of the human body.

In Indian culture or thought human beings or everyone on this earth is guided by the supreme universal spirit I.e. Paramatma or God of which the individual human spirit I.e. Jivatma is a part. Yoga is a way to secure liberation (Moksa) because it is the means by which the jivatma can be United to the paramatma.

Asana is a stage of yoga to secure purity of body, mind and souls.

Asanas: Asana means holding the body in a particular posture to bring stability to the body and poise to the mind. Benefits of different yogasanas are given below-

1. Padmasana

  2. The crossed legs and the erect back keeps the mind attentive and alert.
  3. It is good for curing stiffness in the knees and ankles.
  4. This asana is useful for concentration, meditation and self realization.

2. Vajrasana

3. Sukhasana

4. Savasana

  1. This asana co-ordinated the posture and meditation. It pacifies the body and the mind.

  4. It helps to cure the diseases such as high or low blood pressure and indigestion and the blood circulation becomes regular in the entire body and one feels refreshing.

5. Halasana

  1. This asana stimulates blood circulation, the face looks bright and youthful.
  2. It prevents constipation, improves digestion and influence the glands.
  3. It helps in developing the abdominal muscles.
  4. Griping pain in the stomach due to wind is also relieved and lightness is felt.
  5. The spine receives an extra supply of blood due to the forward bend and this helps to relieve backache.

6. Bhujangasana

8. Salabhasana

9. Dhanurasana

10. Chakrasana
